导师简介
吕教授现为卡尔加里大学化学与石油工程系助理教授。主要研究方向为生物粘附、胶体与界面化学、聚合物、纳米材料/纳米技术及其在生物医学和工业中的应用,如防污、油砂工艺水处理、尾矿沉降、排放控制等。分别于2001年和2004年在武汉大学获得化学学士和化学硕士学位,师从陆俊涛教授和庄林教授,并在加拿大阿尔伯塔大学获得分析化学博士学位,师从jed harrison教授。之后于加拿大阿尔伯塔大学刘洋教授(土木与环境工程系)、曾宏波教授(化学与材料工程系)担任博士后,并在advanced functional materials,angewandte chemie international edition、biomaterials、soft matter、water research、advanced materials interfaces等顶级期刊发表论文30余篇,著书1章。

Description:Dr.Gregory Cairncross and Dr.Michael Blough are recruiting a postdoctoral associate with interests in defective mitosis,the molecular origins of cancer,and growth signaling.The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a dynamic research group studying the nature,evolution,and treatment of brain tumours in adults and children.The successful candidate will work closely with wet lab scientists to decipher how a ubiquitious growth factor abundant in the mammalian brain transforms neural progenitor cells to produce a histological and molecular replica of human glioblastoma with its 7+/10-diagnostic signature.Using this model of human GBM as a starting point,the successful candidate will have the freedom and opportunity to develop her/his own lines of inquiry supported by state-of-the-art facilities for animal and human genome research aided by a comprehensive cell and tissue bank.The long term goal of the Cairncross lab is to understand and prevent human glioblastoma.
Skills required:The successful candidate will have had superb wet lab research training in cell biology,neurobiology,cancer cell biology,or genomics,and have completed a PhD.In addition,they will have published a significant body of work in rigorous international biomedical journals.The successful candidate will also be an ambitious self-starter with creative ideas,able to work independently and with others,solve problems,and design and execute the key experiments.Experience with advanced microscopy and animal models of cancer would be invaluable skills. 加拿大博士后
Expectations:Funding is available for two years but the successful candidate will nevertheless be expected to compete for external awards and fellowships.Their most advanced degree must have been conferred within the last 3 years to retain eligibility for most major external awards.
